玉くしげ 覆(ｵﾎ)ふをやすみ 明けていなば 君が名はあれど 我が名し惜(ｦ)しも
You say it would be easy to hide our relationship and go home at dawn.
You will be fine but I am ashamed of my name in public to be known.
内大臣(ｳﾁﾉｵﾎﾏﾍﾂｷﾐ)藤原卿の鏡王女を娉(ﾖﾊﾞ)ふ時に、鏡王女の内大臣に贈る歌一首
玉くしげ 覆(ｵﾎ)ふをやすみ 明けていなば 君が名はあれど 我が名し惜(ｦ)しも
(現代語訳)
内大臣藤原卿が鏡王女をめとった時に、鏡王女が内大臣に贈った歌一首
(玉くしげ)二人の間柄を隠すことは容易だからとて、夜があけてお帰りになったら、あなたの名はそれでよいでしょうが、わたしの名が立つのは惜しいです。
