シェイクスピア・ソネット鑑賞短歌112: Tanka for Sonnet 112

中湖 康太

112
世間なる 非難中傷 われ知らぬ
きみがこの善 わかってくれれば
For what care I who calls me well or ill,
You are my all-the-world, and I must strive
To know my shames and praises from your tongue;
That all the world besides methinks are dead.

Your love and pity doth the impression fill
Which vulgar scandal stampt upon my brow;
For what care I who calls me well or ill,
So you o’er-green my bad, my good allow?
You are my all-the-world, and I must strive
To know my shames and praises from your tongue;
None else to me, nor I to none alive,
That my steel’d sense or changes right or wrong.
In so profound abysm I throw all care
Of others’ voices, that my adder’s sense
To critic and to flatterer stopped are.
Mark how with my neglect I do dispense:
You are so strongly in my purpose bred,
That all the world besides methinks are dead.

キーワード訳注
Your love and pity doth the impression fill
Which vulgar (俗悪な) scandal stampt (踏みつける, 刻印を押す) upon my brow (まゆ, 額);
For what care I who calls me well or ill,
So you o’er-green (=cover over with green) my bad, my good allow?
You are my all-the-world, and I must strive
To know my shames and praises from your tongue;
None else to me, nor I to none alive,
That my steel’d (はがねのように固い) sense or changes right or wrong.
In so profound abysm (底なしの穴) I throw all care
Of others’ voices, that my adder’s (adder 計算者) sense
To critic and to flatterer stopped are.
Mark how with my neglect I do dispense:
You are so strongly in my purpose bred,
That all the world besides methinks ([古]=it seems to me) are dead.
